Leather lingerie is making a strong comeback in the last year, with some of the most original and detailed lingerie pieces being released in leather designs. Many retailers are featuring the leather lingerie lines as their main attraction with selections that are as good as or better than the regular lingerie lines. Leather accessories like gloves, hats and whips can be mixed into any lingerie outfit to create a sexy look. Mixed with buckles, studs, rings and mesh, the leather pieces feature an incredible look that can’t be duplicated with ordinary fabrics.

One of the best qualities of leather lingerie is the ability to mix and match certain pieces with outfits outside of the bedroom. In the middle ages, the loincloth was replaced by a large, loose outfit called ’braies’. This was usually made from linen and is much bigger than the loincloth. The braies is made with a covering at the front that could be buttoned or tied closed.
In modern times, historians trace the thong’s first public appearance to 1939 when New York Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia directed that the city’s nude exotic dancers to dress more appropriately.
Fashion designer, Rudi Gernreich was credited with introducing the first modern thong back in 1974.
