Zumba had everyone dancing. Carmen Electra had everyone stripping. Now burlesque has everyone doing a combination of the two to lose weight. Vaudezilla Studios in Chicago runs a burlesque workout class that is fun – but still hard work.
Even though it sounds tough because it focuses on your abs, hips and thighs, it sure as hell sounds better than sitting in front of your TV listening to the P90X guy’s non-stop talking. “Pam, we’re being chased! She’s working on one of those Private Investigation Deals and she got in trouble!” I think I speak for all P90X grads when I say, “Shut up, Tony! I bought your DVD to exercise, not to hear your nonsensical chatter! I hate you and so does Pam!” And end rant.
Now, back to the burlesque workout. I’m down for anything that allows me to dress up a little bit, dance and forget that I’m actually working out. Anything that requires a feather boa has to be fun, right?
The bonus is that once you’ve gone through the workout and gotten in shape, you can put your moves to work in the bedroom. Add a corset, thigh highs and heels and you’ll be in for a hell of a night in the bedroom.
